Why Saurav Ganguly signed up with the Pune Warriors (Satire)

Sourav Ganguly, in an exclusive interview to MakeTimeForSports, revealed the reason why he decided to accept an offer from Pune Warriors for this year’s IPL.

“I had completely given up hope of playing for Kolkatta Knight Riders  or any other franchise in this IPL. That mealy-mouthed SRK is not my favourite actor anymore.” said the former India captain.

“I was looking for the right franchise to turn to. Kochi Tuskers was on my radar. But the final decision was made by my wife,Dona.” disclosed the ODI legend.

“Dona is very much impressed with the Pune Warriors setup, specifically their classy Indian cheerleaders. She’s an Odissi danseuse herself and the new style PWI cheerleaders were just her cup of tea.” said Ganguly.

“Dona rarely watches cricket but she’s a huge fan of Pune Warriors and their cheer queens.” Ganguly beamed.

“She never approved of my taking off my shirt at Lords’, so you know what she thinks of the ‘gori’ cheerleaders and their ‘nakras’. She always harps, “Those White Mischief girls will surely get the cricketers up to funny games and ideas.” remarked the proud husband.

“Dona wanted to help out with the choreography of the dancers.” said the Prince of Kolkatta.

“It is only because she approached the PWI management and then implored my case that I was able to secure a place in this IPL. God knows, I had reconciled myself to commentating on television in my dapper suits. BTW, don’t you think I look sharp in them?” Ganguly gratefully concluded.
