CA: We are extremely perturbed by the South African cheerleader’s antics and have taken steps to prevent such an event recurring. We are currently talking to the franchisees about rethinking their attitude towards Western cheerleaders and look farther east, specifically China, for pom-pom girls next year.

Sachin Tendulkar referrals to be voted in by television audience (Satire)

Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, doing what...


The glaring error made by television broadcasters while replaying different camera views of a referred Sachin Tendulkar dismissal in the IPL has prompted tournament CEO, Sundar Raman, to propose a unique, innovative solution.

Every time an appeal against the master batsman is referred to the third umpire, the replayed feed will be telecast to television viewers prior to the third umpire.

Viewers will be provided a number to text where they will vote on whether the batsman is out or not.

IPL franchisees demand a say in appointment of curators (Satire)

There are more rumbles within the IPL.

The franchisees are not all pleased with the auctions. Though teams have largely grabbed the players they short-listed, the team owners feel that they should have a say in the appointment of curators and groundsmen especially at their home venues.

IPL: Kochi franchisee in ICU , issued a thirty day termination notice

If the BCCI bigwigs were in a tearing, unholy hurry to terminate the Lalit Modi-associated franchisees — Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab — they are now dragging their feet and going by the book in their dealings with the Kochi consortium.

The IPL governing council met this morning , October 27, 2010 . After due deliberations they issued a thirty day termination notice to the alliance partners.

Shashank Manohar  — a lawyer by profession —  pronounced that the Kochi franchise’s case is quite different from the other two expelled franchisees. Since there were no new partners added to the shareholding structure , it is considered a ‘remedial breach’ of the agreement. The Kochi franchisee lives on for another thirty days.

"The Governing Council has invoked clause 12 (1) and given them a 30 days notice that in case they don’t remedy these disputes in the 30 days, the franchise would stand cancelled on the 31st day," he said.

The infractions by the other two franchisees have been termed ‘intermediary breaches’.

The twists and turns in the sordid IPL drama get hairier, by the day!

BCCI’s Srinivasan has filed an FIR in Chennai against Lalit Modi accusing him of defrauding the BCCI to the tune of Rs. 470 crores.

Readers might be aware that Mr. Lalit Modi is currently in London and refuses to return to India fearing for his life.

His weapon of choice against any and all charges is his Twitter account. Talk about social media pressure!
