IPL franchisee owners are clamouring for change.
Fed-up of being short-changed by the non-availability of key players, team honchos have decided to drive changes in the format of the IPL.
“After paying superstars millions of dollars, the least you could expect is that they would be on hand for the duration of the tournament.
But no such luck.”
“National team commitments are deemed more important”, complains a prominent unnamed IPL co-owner.

The Indian cricket team for the Asia Cup in Dambulla from June 15 to June 28 has been announced.
There are no real surprises in the team selection bar the much expected(?) dropping of Yuvraj Singh and the resting of Sachin Tendulkar at his own request.
Yusuf Pathan has been dropped purportedly because of his inability to play short-pitched bowling. I guess the ones without a godfather are the first ones to feel the selector’s ire.

Now that IPL 3 is finished & done and Chennai Super Kings rule supreme with their name engraved on the (hideous) trophy, a few more thoughts on the IPL and the final:
1> No team has won the title more than once but then we are only in the 3rd edition of the IPL. The final between CSK and Mumbai Indians ensured that there would be a fresh champion once more.
2> The 3rd and 4th place match was a replay of last year’s final with Royal Challengers Bangalore having some semblance of sweet revenge for last year’s loss to the Chargers, though Kumble might not agree! Bangalore now go onto the T20 Champions Trophy! Just to remind you that none of the IPL teams featured in the semi-finals of last year’s T20 Champions tournament.
