What he said:
"I dedicate the series win to London zoo. Had a great time there with Wilf and Mrs Swann yesterday."
Graeme Swann, the self-appointed funny man in the English cricket squad, tweets his dedication of the ODI series win over India.
What he really meant:
“I’m going ape with joy.”
What he definitely didn’t (or did he?):
“Just monkeying around.”
“I don’t like losing. That ‘L" word is not in my vocabulary. Only Love and Lord. Not Losing."
Anthony Martin is a scribe’s delight as he comes up with original quotes following West Indies’ first victory in the ODI series against India at Antigua.
What he really meant:
”I can’t spell ‘losing’”
What he definitely didn’t:
“Bring me a fresh dictionary.”

The debate rages on.
Have the Indian selectors chosen the best possible side for the ODI World Cup?
The argument centres on whether there ought to have been a back-up keeper. MS Dhoni—as captain and stumper—shoulders a heavy responsibility.
To his credit, he has borne the burden well and there is no reason to believe that he will not do the same in February-March—should he remain fit.
As for the pessimists, they will wonder who will keep wickets if Dhoni is forced to miss a match.

Another ODI series ends. India run away 5-0 victors, handing the Black Caps yet another whitewash on their sub-continent sojourn.
Vettori’s team began the tour well. Chris Martin gave India a scare in the first Test. The second Test witnessed another exhibition of their fighting qualities.
The third Test at Nagpur, however, was their Waterloo.

The BCCI have been roundly criticised for their decision to abstain from the 16th Asian Games at Guangzhou. India are the only major Asian cricketing superpower to not send a team. Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have squads representing their respective countries.
The BCCI bailed out claiming that they did not want to send a second string team since the Games clashed with the India – New Zealand Test and ODI series. The Ranji trophy is also scheduled around the same time—sending a team would rob the tournament of it’s sheen.
