For Indian cricket fans who prefer to catch World Cup updates on the telly rather than on the internet, there exists one show that differentiates itself from the rest.

It is CNN-IBN’s Kings Of Cricket—featuring Sir Vivian Richards, Imran Khan, Allan Border, Chris Cairns, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Abbas, Murali Kartik, Kirti Azad and Harsha Bhogle.

The term ‘Kings Of Cricket’ is apt when applied to Richards,the original Khan,Allan Border and maybe even Anil Kumble. The former three are legends of the game and  have played in and/or captained World Cup winning sides.

Cricket World Cup: Revenge does not make the world go round


Two days to go to the India-Australia quarter-final at Motera, Ahmedabad and the Indian media has already begun to hype the meeting as an opportunity for the men in blue to wreak revenge on their counterparts in yellow.

It would be sweet payback for the loss in the 2003 World Cup final.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

The Indian team ensured that they finished their group matches on a high relegating the Windies to fourth place in Group B.

Team India now face Australia in the quarter-finals at Motera, Ahmedabad.

The bowling has regained some of its zing with R Ashwin’s entry. Question marks remain especially about the lower order. Home advantage should count for something specially against a no-longer-mighty Australia.

BCCI takes nutritional issue with MS Dhoni (Humour)


It has been learnt, from undisclosed (unreliable) sources, that the meeting the selectors (namely Krishnamachari Srikkanth) and a BCCI official had with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Gary Kirsten last week was not about team selection (as widely reported in the press) but about nutritional matters.

The BCCI is worried that about the type of endorsements Indian cricketers have taken on  and the non-salutary effect it has had on their diet and hence their on-field performance.

Harbhajan Singh and Reebok have discovered the Teesra. In a viral video doing the rounds on YouTube, the off-spinner demonstrates a ball that stops and reverses back to the bowler.

It actually drops dead after spinning back and side-wards.

Much like the back-spinning, side-spinning drop shots employed by tennis masters .
