CNN-IBN have announced that for the duration of IPL4, beginning Saturday, 9th April, 2011, their show ‘The Week That Wasn’t’ will not be hosted by Cyrus Broacha.
He will be replaced by ‘Sheik Of Tweak’ Shane Warne.
The proposal was made by the legendary leg-spinner to the producers of the show.
CNN-IBN producers were reluctant—at first.
Warne then offered to have British actress Elizabeth Hurley as a guest on the show.
What finally clinched the deal was Shane Warne’s contention that he could get his fellow IPL team-mates on the show to contribute with inside jokes on IPL happenings.
That was the final nail in Broacha’s coffin.
Cyrus Broacha is reported to be sulking. For once, he is the victim or ‘bakra’ instead of the prankster.
He has termed the sell-out as ‘The IPL That Wasn’t’.
He was last seen consulting Anna Hazare about enacting a bill that protects his rights.
Hazare invited him to join the fast in support of the NGO-revised Jan LokPal bill claiming that he could kill two birds with one stone—lose weight and gain some support.
Shane Warne was unavailable for immediate comment. He had promised to answer any and all questions on Twitter.
He is quoted : “But if you don’t hear from me, just call it ‘The Tweet That Wasn’t’”
(All quotes and facts in this story are made up, but you knew that already, didn’t you?)
